Job Description:
We are recruiting for a Quality Engineer on behalf of an Electronics Manufacturing company based in West Sussex.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure the quality and safety of products and processes through the application of the Quality Systems and activities to meet the Technical and site objectives
- To support the Production and QA manager in ensuring excellent quality standards, by ensuring the quality systems are maintained and continuously improved
- To update and fully understand the QMS systems, carry out internal audits and manage any non-conformance’s
- To make quality assurance checks on the production line
- To monitor all production records to check compliance
- To complete all forms accurately and precisely
- To carry out internal audits to schedule including support function and production service lines
Duties and Key Accountabilities:
- Creating/maintaining report
- Checking stock against drawings for possible defects
- Liaising with Operatives, Engineers, Department Managers, Sales, and purchasing to overcome problems
- Coordinating quality investigations and maintain the CAPA system
- Overseeing the regular calibration of equipment
- Work closely with customer returns
- Build compliance processes
- Complete Risk Assessments
- Identify Root Cause, Corrective action and preventive action required
- Perform the effectiveness review of the CAPA system
- Ensure the quality document control process is effectively followed
- Participate in external audit such as Customer audit and BSI audit
- Give advice, support and guidance to all relevant parties to ensure the quality of the product and the process are followed
- Create, Update, Amend documents, process, procedures, work instructions, process mapping when required
- Report Highlights and Lowlights to the QA manager in regular basis.
- Participate in Customer meetings and discussion
- Build strong communication with customers, production lines and support function
Skills and Experience:
- Good interpersonal communication skills
- Flexible and adaptable approach to tasks/projects etc
- Efficient and organised
- A proactive problem solver with a ‘can do’ attitude
- Willing to learn from mistakes and handle constructive criticism positively
- Computer literate
- Good knowledge of MS applications including Excel and Word
- Able to understand the basics of technical drawings, measurements, and tolerances
Preferred Qualifications:
- Electronics-based qualifications or experience
- Experience with factory/production-based work
- Experience in a quality-based position
- Knowledge of macros/VBA scripting in MS Office environment
